What a Hong Kong apostille is
An apostille is a certificate issued by the High Court Registry of Hong Kong under the Hague Apostille Convention. It confirms the signature and seal on a Hong Kong public document so it is accepted in another member country without consular legalisation.
You can only get a Hong Kong apostille on documents issued or notarised in Hong Kong. Documents from other places must be apostilled where they were issued.
Which documents can be apostilled
1. Hong Kong government-issued documents
- Birth, marriage and death certificates (Immigration Department)
- Certificate of Absence of Marriage Record
- Business Registration Certificate
- Certificate of Incorporation – a company search printout must be attached
2. Documents notarised in Hong Kong
- Certified true copies of passports, HKID, degree certificates and transcripts
- Powers of attorney and affidavits signed before a notary
- Statutory declarations, including single-status declarations
- Company documents certified by a notary (board resolutions, articles, registers)
Our process
- You send a photo and destination country; we confirm the route and fixed price.
- If needed, an independent Hong Kong notary certifies or witnesses the document.
- We lodge it at the High Court Registry Apostille Office and pay the HK$125 fee.
- We collect the apostille (normally two working days) and check every detail.
- We return the documents to you by courier or arrange collection.
